Doggett Ford Park, Oak View Group, and Pepsi have partnered for a second year for the “Next Generation” Scholarship Award, an annual program to highlight local student-athletes who have grown their love for the sport of baseball or softball while competing at Ford Fields during their youth careers.

 

The opportunity is open to any Class of 2024 high school graduate and will culminate with a $1,000 award being given to the winner.  

 

“We are thrilled to once again work in conjunction with Pepsi to recognize a local student-athlete who has come up playing ball at our facility. We continue to believe that the sports of baseball and softball play a vital role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow by instilling valuable life lessons including teamwork, discipline, the importance of hard work, and goal setting”, said Oak View Group’s Claudio Oliveira, General Manager of Doggett Ford Park.

 

Doggett Ford Park is collaborating with Pepsi, a long-time partner at the complex, to execute on their shared commitment of supporting local community athletes.

 

“Pepsi is excited to continue to give back to the community by partnering with Doggett Ford Park and Oak View Group to award this scholarship to a local graduating senior and future champion of tomorrow” said Chris Glaze, Foodservice Sales Representative.

 

To apply candidates are asked to submit a full-page essay reflecting on their time spent playing at Ford Fields, what the experience has meant to them, and how it has helped shape them for the future.  All essays should be submitted via email to Richard.Doss@oakviewgroup.com prior to 5:00pm CST on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

 

Doggett Ford Park will announce the winner in conjunction with the upcoming Perfect Game 2024 Southeast Texas World Series Championship, an end-of-season tournament being held at Ford Fields from June 18  through June 23.

 

Ford Fields, soon to be rebranded as Doggett Automotive Fields, is comprised of 12 championship-caliber youth softball/baseball fields and hosts over 10,000 games and over 180,000 young athletes each year while generating an estimated $3.5 million economic impact annually to the region.
